Back onto the Disappointing Products tag and it's time to round up the final products in this part two instalment. Have a read of the rest of these shelved products that I couldn't get along with.
The Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy: Now I like me a flakie top coat. I think they're stunning and can transform many shades of nail polish into something almost interstellar and multi-dimensional and the the reason is the multi-chrome flakes. However the flakes in this are a bit too thick and don't lay flat properly, making even dispersion difficult and the finish looks terrible. The polish it sits in is thick and jelly like which doubles the drying time as well. Shame on you Revlon. If there is one thing you need to understand about nail polish is that as soon as a gal paints her nails, suddenly she has a million things to do. We don't have half and hour to wait for that shit to set.
Loreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara: I do love the packaging, its shiny and I am highly drawn to shiny things but thats about where my love for this product stops. There is nothing else to love. The formula is thick and wet at the same time. I thought I would be a fan of the brush because I prefer the natural lash effect that rubber wands can give you but this product doesn't deliver. What it gives me is wet clumpy lashes that smudge.
Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara: Being the owner of bushy brows means I'm always on the hunt for a great brow product to set my brows with and this drugstore option is definitely on the cheapie side however it doesn't do the job. The product is on the wet side which clumps my brows hairs together creating the illusion of MEGA HAIRS of which I do not have. Really, what products 'clumps' brow hairs? I wasn't aware this was even a side effect until I encountered this. It also isn't strong enough to set my brows for the day either. The top of the handle is prone to breaking too.
Sleek Lip Pencils: It looks like I'm bad mouthing Sleek but thats completely not true, it just means I haven't come across products I love yet. In Oz I have to order from the site so it's a once in a blue moon purchase for me. I am planning on trying this again but from past experience I've noticed they're quite dry and hard for a lip pencil making in uncomfortable to apply.
Australis Primer: Nothing specific, not marketed for dry skin, combo or oily. But claims to do everything multiple primers do. It's nice to apply and a little goes a long way but thats where I draw the line. I wouldn't say it gives the smoothest canvas, not compared to other primers I've tried. It sets fast and I just swatched it again and it's burning a little cut I have on the back of my hand FYI. So acne prone people might find this stings. It doesn't prolong the wear of my makeup either. Its definitely suited to people with oily skin!
Maybelline Dream Fresh 8-1 BB Cream: This is a sad one. I love Maybelline so to find a dud makes me so sad. This is more due to me being so pale more than anything else but I'm also not too fond of the finish of this either. Its ORANGE toned. Not pink undertoned, not yellow undertoned...it's just straight up bad tan orange. On me anyway. This is also the palest shade this BB Cream offers too. Normally Maybelline is a nice match for me but not with this. The finish is quite oily too which for someone with dry skin is an accomplishment.
And thats a wrap...for now. There are many more products out there for me to purchase and hate. Whats a miss for you?
Gidget xx
