Favourites | My 2014 Favourites

Happy Belated 2015! I know so many people say 2014 just flew past but it was a hard year for me so it did kind of drag by. I made many discoveries, Beauty wise, that I can't wait to share with you.

So what are my Favourite products of 2014?

Mascara: Covergirl Clump Crusher
I adore this mascara. I'm not a giant fan of super black voluminous lashes and my day to day preferred look is simple. This mascara gives me length, non-full-on volume and softly tints my lashes a darker shade making them look naturally full, long and gorgeous. That's with just one coat!

Eyeshadow: Inglot
I couldn't narrow it down to any specific palette because I always have new ones in circulation it seems so I picked the one I use the most and that is definitely my Inglot quad (review here). You just can't beat the quality of these shadows.

Primer: Loreal Lumi Magique Pure Light
I have a hard time getting foundation to not only match me but to sit/sink into my skin nicely. I have tried pore minimising primers and think they're meh, however hydrating primers I have far more luck with. This smooth over my face like silk and makes my skin feel super prepped for my base. (Review here).

Bronzer: The Body Shop Honey Bronzer
I'd begun to notice my face beginning to look particularly flat at times after my base was applied and realised I needed to add colour and dimension back into my face and bronzer is a great way to do that, but I'd never delved into bronzers before. I picked this up just before summer rolled round and I'm so pleased I did. It's the perfect shade to warm up my pale complexion without turning me orange. (Review here).

Skin Care Serum: Antipodes Divine Face Oil
I've been circulating far too many skin care products in my regime this year to be able to say for sure that any one thing is my favourite but this serum is the only stand out. I've tried serums before and always had a bad reaction to them until I tried this one. I don't know what it is but my skin absolutely loves it!

Lip Balm: Nivea Lip Butter
Nothing has changed here. I've tried a few this year but I always come back to ye' old faithful. Nothing else compares.

Perfume: Katy Perry Killer Queen
Honestly I haven't really had the time or money to try anything else really but I do love this scent, it lasts all day and a bottle lasts me a good 5-7months. I love rich spicy musky scents and it ticks all the boxes for me.

Cleanser: The Body Shop Chamomile Cleansing Butter
Now Cleansers is something I've been delving into a lot this year, I don't know what it is but I love to have a clean face. I like my cleansers to leave my face moisturised after cleaning rather than stripping my face after each cleanse. I love the way this one feels. The Body Shop is definitely doing something right.

Concealer: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
This was a discovery I made later on in the year but has had to replace my beloved Essence match 2 cover concealer as that one has been discontinued. For a liquid concealer it is the most pigmented concealer I have ever come across and covers blemishes perfectly. I can even blend it in with a fluffy brush without product buffing away and ruining the coverage. It sticks!

Powder: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish
I'd never really put too much stock into finishing powders as my face has a tendency to look too powdery if I'm not careful. This has such a light coverage which makes it a beautiful powder to set my base with.

Base: Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42
I love a quick and easy base. Works out even better if it's pale enough to match my skin. The spf 42 is a bonus. This smooths over my skin nicely giving me satin finish, sun protection and an even base to work with. This is a must have for me.

Lipstick: Revlon Matte Balm Stain in Standout
I could have gone with a nude but I have a million of them and use them all equally so I have no real particular favourite in that regard but for a bold lip I always go back to this. It's super quick and easy to apply and rush out the door.

Entertainment: Amazon Kindle E-reader
I haven't been showing my Kindle a lot of love recently but it still is my number one source of entertainment, apart from my laptop. I cart this thing with me everywhere I go. It's like a library in my handbag.

Anxiety: Thursday Plantation Lavender Oil
I'm mega pissed this brand discontinued the smaller version of this. This bottle is around $17 whereas the smaller version was only $7 and it had a small little opening, allowing you to sprinkle the contents on surfaces. It's bigger counterpart is almost unmanageable but I persist because it's the best lavender scent I have ever come across. Any other oil smells cheap and cruddy compared to this. I love to sprinkle it on my bed and pillow before bed or when I need to wind down. It's so amazing. I love it so much and go through bottles of it.

What did you love in 2014?
