Review | Australis AC ON TOUR Contouring & Highlighting Kit

Hello Interwebs! Now, unless you're under a rock, I think everyone in the Beauty Community knows about this Australis Palette. All the cosmetic obsessed gals of Australia want it, have it or are feverishly hunting it down. So I'll be brief in my review of this kit because I guarantee there are going to be a million reviews on this!

Whats that I hear? "Looks just like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Kit" Yes. I know. And it does. But I have mentioned before that Australis like to aesthetically copy other brands although they may have hit the nail on the head with this one. I can guarantee these are PIGMENTED shades and I'm very impressed with them. I was expecting them to be very orange based and muddy but had no such issues with them. I was also pleasantly surprised with how it's packaged as well. In a box wrapped in bubble wrap, making it feel like more of a high end palette rather than something I just picked up from the drugstore. The only downside was there does not seem to be tester pans of the shades for you to see in-store making it more of a gamble purchase.

If you're a newbie to Contouring and Highlighting they've got you covered on the back with a step by step guide on how to carve out every inch of your glorious face. Though I tend to just contour my cheekbones and the tip of my nose and call it a day. Everybody's face is different. So just keep in mind you don't have to go extreme with this method. We can't all have Kate Moss's bone structure (the bitch). Less is always more.

While the packaging is far more sturdier than some of their other palettes I've run across I'm a little disappointed there is no mirror inside. So if you travel with this make sure to pack a compact.

Here are the shades above. I wish the Highlighting shades showed up better but they are just as pigmented as the contour shades so don't worry. I have no idea what to do with the yellow. Yellow counteracts red so maybe something like that. If you know do give me a holla!

I can not wait to drag this little palette interstate with me to a friends wedding. This kit will be perfect for travel. As the browns can double and eyeshadow shades and eyebrow powder in a pinch too!

Currently this palette is available in your local Priceline instore and online for a very cool $16.95au.

  1. I think yellow is to counteract the purple-y darkness of dark circles under your eyes - at least that's what my yellow under-eye concealer is for haha. I saw this in Priceline the other day and was curious about it so it's good to see a post - is it too stark for your pale skin? Everything is always too orange for me >< x

    1. I haven't tried the Yellow shade on myself just yet. The shades don't lean too orange on me. I use a duo fibre brush and dust off excess on the back of my hand before I go in with any or the three darker shades. I'll have to try the yellow to set my under-eye concealer when I have dark circles next time! Thank you xx
